Join VEP’s network of talented volunteers!

VEP recruits volunteers from around the country with a wide array of skills and experience. Through this talented network, we are able to provide remote, targeted technical assistance to small, state, and local high-impact organizations involved with voter registration, voter education, and other turnout activities in historically disenfranchised communities. You can volunteer as much or as little time you want, whenever you may have time between now and November, and in any number of different ways – all from your own home doing what you already know how to do. There is complete flexibility to participate in ways that fit your schedule. Sign up here!

VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS

PROJECT-BASED SUPPORT (Core Program)

VEP Volunteers work on specific projects requested by our Frontline Partners based on your skills, interests, and availability. Examples of projects include:

  • researching changes in race/age demographics in a Partner’s target counties;

  • drafting content for a Partner’s monthly newsletter;

  • updating language on a Partner’s civic engagement page to include the latest info on voter registration deadlines;

  • creating content for a Partner’s social media channels;

  • producing videos on how to obtain and complete a mail in ballot in a Partner’s state;

  • designing layouts for voter education posters and fliers for a Partner’s outreach efforts; and

  • reviewing and updating slides for a Partner’s in person voter education forums.

This is a good fit for: students, working professionals, retirees, and others who like concrete projects and have different periods of availability throughout the year.

GRASSROOTS ADVOCACY

Because civic participation is more than just voting, VEP will assist interested volunteers in finding ways they can join grassroots advocacy efforts in your community. When you sign up, Volunteers can indicate which issue(s) you are interested in and VEP will provide information on groups working in these areas that offer opportunities for community participation (e.g. attending rallies, testifying in local hearings, meeting with policy makers, organizing community education events etc)

This is a good fit for: anyone interested in getting involved in grassroots advocacy on an issue of importance to you, particularly in your local community.
